(Above) Flitcham Primary School early 20th century. The school was rebuilt in 1911 and still looks much the same today.

(Below) A village group. PC posted at Flitcham (Edward VII halfpenny stamp!) to Miss Gertie Linford from sister Winnie Linford: "Can you find Winnie and I on the wall?" (She meant her brother Willie!) Winnie was born in 1902 so would have been no older than 10 years old when she wrote this in clear, neat handwriting. Extracts from her school books could appear on this website during 2025.
