 The end-on single storey building far left in the above photo where the man in the pith helmet is standing is the same building below but before it was coverted to two-storeys. The little single storey cottages  in the middle distance on the right were all converted to two storey houses after this photo was taken (c1910). The new brickwork can be discerned at first floor level.
