Michael and Eileen Jarvis of Flitcham at one time lived in the Lodge and their son Andrew was born in the little room on the left of the archway.

Hillington Lodge was reconstructed from the East Gates of King's Lynn, purchased by the Folkes family in the early 19th century. The gates had fallen into disrepair and were not large enough to accommodate the increased traffic. The remains of two old stone crosses either side of the entrance were once situated along the Lynn - Fakenham Rd
